
Postnatal Home Visit
Private midwife home visit in the first 6 weeks postnatal
Service Description
This postnatal home visit can be used once your birth hospital has discharged you from their home visiting service (if that exists). If you have birthed at a private hospital and do not have a home visit schedule, I can provide home visits as soon as you're discharged. During a postnatal home visit with me you can expect: BABY: - assistance with breastfeeding (includes latch/attachment, education, encouragement) - education and assistance with caring for baby, including (but not limited to) normal newborn baby behaviour, baby sleep, settling, nappy changing, bathing. - weighing baby YOU - checking of any wound (abdominal or perineal) - assisting with mastitis treatment / prevention / advice - assisting with increasing breast milk supply - education and advice on protecting your postpartum space - respecting the mumma/baby dyad - birth debriefing and emotional support OTHER SERVICES: - scripts for medication for you and/or baby if required - referrals to hospital / paediatricians if required - referrals to other modalities for continued support Appointment will be booked for 1 hour but this is very flexible on the day and will be charged accordingly. Prices are as follows: 20-40 minute appointment: $10.30 out of pocket after medicare rebate* 41-90 minute appointment: $19.10 out of pocket after medicare rebate* 90+ minute appointment: $28.65 out of pocket after medicare rebate* Travel fee: FREE for within 20km of Seaford Rise. Outside of this boundary, $50 per half hour of travel is applied in addition to the out of pocket cost.
Cancellation Policy
Policy relevant for single or package sessions. I will: -Keep what you tell me and what we discuss to myself, unless I have concerns that you are or have plans to seriously harm yourself, if someone else is hurting you or if others are at risk. -Let you know if I am unable to make a session for any reason. -Keep notes of our sessions in a safe and secure place. -Work within the ethical framework of my professional organisation. -Keep any details we have on you as up to date as possible. I ask that you: -Attend your sessions. If you are unable to be present, please give me as much notice as possible. -Respect each other's wishes in regards to confidentiality and to decide together whether or not to discuss or otherwise share what has been brought to your sessions. -Keep to our agreed session time. If for any reason you are running late, please let me know but be aware that our session will still end at the usual time despite starting later than usual. -Turn your mobile phone off during sessions. -Please be aware, I cannot give you any clinical or advice regarding pregnancy or birth or postnatal period.
